While visiting the library I was disgusted to hear the manager, Michelle Jolly, mocking a disabled man using their computers. She made fun of his appearance and his verbal skills. She didn't realise that the man she was making fun of in front of me was actually my brother. He was a regular user of the library and usually went in once a week with a carer. I happened to be in with him on this day and was completely appalled. I made a complaint to the district manager but was ignored. I made a public complaint on their Facebook page and it was just deleted. I'm hoping this acts as a warning to others who use their services. This woman should be fired and has no business working in a public library.
Best library I've visited within the country! Staff always ready to lend a hand, many community and children activities to get involved with, facilities are all very clean and shelves all very orderly.
Staff usually lovely however came in today and asked for help from one women with grey bushy hair to see if they had a book I couldnt find on the shelves, her tone was extremely rude and condescending 'well you can find out quite easily yourself do u not have the internet at home' well yes but I wanted to ask now seen as im here' Embarrassed by her response I told her not to worry and walked off at which point she called out to me to explain how the internet works as if I didnt know!!! Quite rude and totally unnecessary attitude I was very embarrassed.
