An old fashioned tea room. Sadly now in the centre of a huge building site which will have nearly 900 houses on it. Interesting snacks and cake. Worth a visit despite the building.
We went there Sunday morning and I have to say I was disappointed.It was a very cold day outside and a very cold day inside, they had a heater going but it just wasnt enough.The staff were attentive and friendl, even with it being really busy the food still came out quickly.I had scrambled eggs on toast with beans and for the price of over 5.00 is was lacking in flavour. Really watery and under seasoned.
Interesting mix of items to purchase and coffee shop and restaurant.It was busy in the run up to Christmas but the coffee was good as was the cake.
Took more than 30 minutes to get our breakfast. Quite good quality, but baked beans were cold. No gluten free sausages - come on, thats unacceptable. Latte with extra shot ordered. Not served. Asked for it again, not sure what happened but the original coffee came back just a bit darker with bits floating in it.. Asked for a fresh one, this time success. At least it gave us something to think about while we waited the 30 plus minutes for our food. Not recommended on a Saturday morning when they are busy.
We have been going to H@me and Eat for a while and really enjoy the food. The breakfasts are really good. The food is good quality (and I believe locally sourced) and the staff are great, very helpful and friendly.I pop in for a sandwich to takeout when I am working, the sandwiches are really tasty and the cake is to die for, especially the carrot cake.Sitting in the place is great too as there is so much to look at while you wait for the food and you can do a bit of shopping on the way out.If you haven't been here, you must visit!
